Recommended for ages 6-12.

You need:

Instructions:

Print Bug Feet, Bug Eyes, Bug Hands, Grad Cap. Many inkjet printers will allow you to run stiffened felt. This will work good for the feet, hands, eyes, and cap. You can also use heavy index paper. If using craft foam, print it on regular paper and staple it onto foam and trim around outlines.

Make a pompon by wrapping yarn around a 5" piece of cardboard a7 least 100 times. Mix the yarn colors any way you would like. Cut a 6" piece of yarn and slide it under wrapped yarn. Tie tightly into a double knot. Turn floppy over and cut completely through yarn on this side. Turn yarn blob sideways and smooth down strands.

Cut out 1 section of the egg carton. Trim so it sits securely upside down. Use tacky glue to glue the egg cup upside down on the feet. Cover the top and some of the sides of the cup with tacky glue. Separate the strands of the pompon to fit the egg cup up inside. Press pompon into place. Arrange yarn.

To make cap, form long rectangle into a circle overlapping 1/2" and glue. Hold with clothes pin until dry. Run a bead a glue along one edge and attach it to square. To make a tassel,  wrap yarn several times around two fingers. Leave about 6" of yarn on one end. Remove from fingers and pinch together at that end. Use another piece of yarn to wrap pinched strands together. Tie off. Cut open loops on other side. Push long piece of yarn through a hole punched in the top. Tie a knot to hold it into place and trim.

Use tacky glue to attach eyes, hands, and cap. Cut a piece of paper to make a diploma. Roll and glue to hand. If giving as a gift write a message on the diploma first.
