Q. How long will it take to get my order?

A. That depends upon the shipping method you choose:

If you need your package right away, we offer next day, 2nd day and third day shipping options through UPS as well as Express Mail through the post office. These orders will usually ship within 24 hours but can be expensive. The exact cost will depend upon the weight of the package and your zip code. You will receive these options and their cost at check out.

When you select Priority Mail or Ground UPS, your order will usually ship with in 48 hours. Most of these packages will arrive within a week and sometimes sooner.

If you choose our flat rate $5.00 shipping option, we will ship any weight package anywhere in the continental US. However, we pick the least expensive shipping method and your order may not go out right away. These orders can take up to 2 weeks to receive. Please do not pick this shipping option if you need your order by a certain date.

At checkout, there is a space to indicate if you need your order by a certain date. We will contact you if you have selected the wrong shipping option. 

Q. How much is shipping and handling?

A. It depends upon the weight, destination and method of shipping. When placing your order on line, you will be given shipping options and their costs. All funds are in US dollars. At that point you can continue or quit placing your order. The least expensive option is $5.00 for flat rate shipping which should arrive in about two weeks. Sorry, we cannot ship 1st class mail since your package cannot be insured or tracked.

Q. Every time I check my shopping cart, the basket is empty. How come?

A. You probably have your internet "cookies" disabled. To enable your cookies in internet explorer click on "tools" in your browser, then "internet options". Click the "security" tab and click on "custom level". Scroll down to the "cookies" section and make sure both options are set to "enabled".

Q. Is ordering on-line secure?

A. Absolutely!

Q.  I am interested in an item that is marked with a future availability date. Can I place my order now?

A. You can. If it is the only item on the order we will hold your order until it becomes available. When you check out, you will be asked if out-of-stock items should be removed, the order held, or if the item should be placed on a separate order where shipping will be charged.

Q. Do you back order out-of-stock items?

A. No, but we will place them on a separate order and shipping will be charged.

Q. Do I have to "Log In" or "Create an Account"?

A. No, the only advantage is that your name, address, phone number etc. will be stored in your computer for future purchases. If you create a account, you will be asked for an email address. If you lose your password, it can be emailed to this address.

Q. Do you ship overseas?

A. Yes, we do if you order with a credit card. Be aware that there are often additional charges including bank charges, custom charges and shipping charges. None of these charges are collected by MakingFriends.com, Inc. The only extra charge we collect is $1.50 US for handling. We have no control over other extra charges. Many packages can no longer be insured by the post office. We will not ship to countries where no insurance is available.

Q. What is your return policy?

A. Returns or exchanges can be made on any items except final sale, close outs, special orders, candy powder and candy molds. Returns and exchanges must be made within 30 days of purchase. Items must be unused/unopened and in saleable condition. Just make a copy of your invoice and send it back with your merchandise. We will credit your card for the merchandise upon receipt. Shipping charges are not refundable. Any additional shipping charged to MakingFriends.com by the carrier will be deducted before the refund is made including including charges for refused packages and incorrect addresses.

Q. Can you take a checks?

A. Sure, go ahead and place your order on-line. Select "check" for payment method. You will be prompted to enter your checking information and your driver's license number. We will put your information into Telecheck. There is no reason to mail the check. Due to an increase in bounced checks, personal checks will no longer be accepted if Telecheck does not authorize it. We will continue to take scout checks by mail.

Q. Can I pay by money order?

A. Sure, go ahead and place your order on-line. Select "check" for payment method. Send your money order with a copy of your invoice to:

Q. Do you take PayPal?

A. Yes, select PayPay as your payment option at check out and follow the instructions to complete payment.

Q. I don't like to put my credit card information on-line. Is there another way to order?

A. Yes, call us at 1-800-559-1182 to place your order.

Q. We are tax exempt. Will I be charged tax?

A. We collect sales tax for residents of New York state. If you are tax exempt you can fax us a copy of your exemption certificate with your invoice number and we will deduct the sales tax before processing your credit card. Our fax number is 631-979-7481.

Q. Do you sell in bulk?

A. Yes, many of our items are already bulk packed and priced accordingly. Call us at 1-800-559-1182 if you need pricing for other items.

Q. Do you give discounts to non-profit organizations?

A. Most of our items are already discounted and most of our customers are non-profit. Additional discounts are often available for large quantities. Call us at 1-800-559-1182 if you need pricing for large quantities.

Q. I am interested in an item you don't carry. Can you get it in?

A. Yes, but it would be a special order. There are minimum quantities and these sales are final.
